
Prim. Ass. prof. Alma Mujanović-Narančić, MD, PhD
Specialist in Internal Medicine, Subspecialist in Endocrinology and Diabetology
Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Tuzla. She passed the professional exam for a Doctor of Medicine in Sarajevo and completed her specialization in internal medicine at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade. She completed her postgraduate clinical studies in Sarajevo, where she also earned the title of Master of Medical Sciences. She was awarded the title of Primarius in Sarajevo and completed her subspecialization in endocrinology and diabetology there as well. She obtained her Doctor of Medical Sciences degree from the University of Sarajevo. In 2002, she attended training on "Bloodless Medicine" in the United States (New York and Baltimore) and served as the coordinator for "Bloodless Medicine" at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo. In 2016, she completed training in hyperbaric medicine in Belgrade. In 2018, she completed healthcare management training in Budapest and at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo.
She began her professional career at the Internal Medicine Clinic in Tuzla, where she worked from 1985 to 1992. From 1992 to 1993, she worked at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade, followed by the Federal Ministry of Health from 2000 to 2002, where she served as the national coordinator for cooperation with WHO and UNICEF. From 2002 to 2017, she worked at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, at the Clinic for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolic Diseases. She participated in the establishment of and served as the director of PZU Polyclinic "Oxy." Since 2019, she has been employed at the General Hospital "Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš."
Her areas of interest include type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, obesity, lipid metabolism disorders, and hyperuricemia (gout). In the field of endocrinology, she focuses on diseases of the pituitary gland, bones, adrenal glands, parathyroid and thyroid glands, endocrine disorders in pregnancy, gynecomastia, erectile dysfunction, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of disorders in women of reproductive age, including hirsutism, polycystic ovary syndrome, menstrual cycle disorders, and infertility.
Fluent in two foreign languages. She is the author and co-author of multiple scientific articles. She established the endocrinology unit at the General Hospital "Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš," where she trained three endocrinologists. As a mentor at the General Hospital "Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš," she is involved in the education of residents and subspecialists in endocrinology and diabetology.
